Broking, trading, futures? Info on understanding terms and stockbroking would be fab?

Hiya, Im thinking of delving into the world of trading/stockbroking (difference?) and was wondering if someone could simplify the process to me? Futures, commodities, derivitives are all quite chinese to me at the mo. Anyone know any good and understandable reading in which I could educate myself regarding such a career. Any other info you wish to provide too would be v.appreciated ie:general advice?

If you want a quick return on your money then trading in cfd,s is the way to go.
You dont actually buy shares as such but buy a contract on the assets.
You then earn or lose money on the opening and closing price of the asset.
Many people have got rich very quick from cfd's but there is also the risk of losing money quickly.
Finding a broker will help as they can advice you on stops that sell when the
asset falls below a certain amount you can afford to lose.

Why are commodities futures the best investments for high net worth people?

I looked at the forbes list today, and the ones that werent internet boom people, in some shape or form traded commodities. Looks like they are a great financial instrument to make big gains, and i guess to also lose big.

You can get rich or poor because of the margin; it leverage your investment.

Example: let say the margin requirement for the December delivery of 5,000 bushels of wheat is $700. The price of the commodity is $1.00 a bushel. You bought $5,000 worth of wheat for $700. In a week, the price of wheat goes up to $1.25. You decide to sell and make $1,250 in profit (1.25-1.00 x 5,000). If you decide that you want to receive the wheat in December and make cereal, you pay $5000 minus the $700 that you already paid.

Is unregulated futures and speculation attacking America through cost of fuel?

According to Michael Greenberger former director of commodities futures and speculation trading is the sole cause of all fuel cost being so high.

Can the President declare war on these perpetrators since they have crippled our economy?
If this is a fact. What does that make all those claiming for the last several years it is supply and demand, weather…?
Why does our government refuse to end the future and speculation, or at least provide the oversight and transparency that would put an immediate halt to this?

A Great question!! I doubt the President can do much period.But I do honestly believe anyone who undermines the infrastructure of this country should be held for treason.Oil speculators fall in that category.As they have no regard for any segment of the population.If we would of had warning and time to prepare or make adjustments I would feel differently,however this has caught us all unawares with no time for adjustments.I could forgive the gasoline but not all the other raises that have so crippled us.When wages are not going anywhere.Just a thought.

i am working for a financial brokergae company. So my job is collect maximum future commodity trading accounts for my company. For this purpose, i need to approach rich people in my area. So please give me some ideas… how to find out them and approach them…

There are lots of ways to do this, much depends on your unique time vs money situation. Here are some quick/cheap ideas.

1) Get and read Dan Kennedy's "No BS" series of books, especially the ones on Sales and on Marketing.

2) Contact the 3 or 5 or 10 customers who love you best. Ask them for a "sponsored referral letter" as explained in Kennedy's books. These work very well with high income people.

3) If that doesn't give you enough lead volume, then you'll have to go to "cold" mailings. Write down everything that your best customers have in common. Age, income, profession, location, attitudes, how they found you, what magazines they read, where they hang out, what cars they drive, everything. Look for strong unique patterns.
Then buy a small mailing list of whatever your budget will support that matches the patterns. Mail the letters as Kennedy describes (in series).

How we can finance margin in commodity futures trading?

Actually, since they are futures and there is no settlement until the contract comes due, there is no financing required other than the initial margin requirement which is more of a security for the broker that you will pay for any losses incurred. If the security is deposited in the form of t-bills, then you can actually earn interest on the deposit. If the balance falls to a position requiring more margin and you do not provide the margin, he just closes your positions and liquidates the account. Nothing could be more simple.
